Fundraising For Our Events
Our largest and most challenging event is certainly Symphony Above the Clouds put on every 5th of July since 1980. This amazing event is attended by an enthusiastic audience of 5,000 to 8,000 people. It is the ideal family event with the friendly atmosphere, open air venue and the fact that the event is completely admission free. This does not mean, however, that there are not significant costs to producing this evening. Each year the Ute Pass Symphony Guild must raise approximately $30,000 to fund this event and our secondary project of sending all of the 4th graders in Teller County to the Philharmonic Kids Concert each Spring.
Because this is an event attended by people from all over the region, each year our primary fundraising goal is to obtain financial support from a wide spectrum of people from Teller County and the surrounding counties. Because Teller County is small, raising $30,000 each and every year presents serious challenges. The City of Woodland Park is a generous partner in our work, providing both financial and in-kind support – but Symphony Above the Clouds is not funded by the City. While we have several generous corporate donors, the majority of the funds come from individual donors. We, of course, are pleased with donations of any size and truly value the wide support Symphony Above the Clouds enjoys.
